Frequently asked questions
What the Snapshot is, what it is not, and what happens to your answers.
What Brainmaxing is
- What is Brainmaxing?
- An educational product that helps you work out which habits, routines and working conditions are most likely to be limiting your focus, memory, learning or follow-through — and gives you a concrete seven-day plan to start with. It also has a bench of short attention and memory games you can run in your browser and keep a record of.
- Is this medical advice?
- No. Brainmaxing is educational. It does not diagnose, treat or prevent any condition. If you are worried about your memory, attention, mood or sleep, please speak to a qualified healthcare professional.
- Is this an IQ test?
- No, and it is not designed to be one. There is no general ability score, no ranking and no comparison with other people. The Snapshot asks about your habits and circumstances, not your abilities.
- Does Brainmaxing guarantee results?
- No, and we would be suspicious of anything that did. The plan is a set of ordinary, low-risk changes that are commonly associated with better focus and retention. Whether they help you is something only you can find out.
The Snapshot and your plan
- How is my Brain Profile created?
- Your answers are scored using a fixed, published set of weights, and the area with the highest total becomes your starting point. The same answers always give the same result, and you can see your full score for all six areas alongside the conclusion.
- How long does the Snapshot take?
- About a minute. It is six questions, one at a time.
- How much time does the plan require?
- Whatever you told us you have. You choose your daily time in the Snapshot, and the plan is scaled to fit it — including the five-minute option.
- Can I change my goal later?
- Yes. You can retake the Snapshot whenever your circumstances change, and the plan will change with it. Retaking anything is never behind a paid plan.
- Do I need any special equipment?
- No. Nothing in the seven-day plan requires a purchase, a device, an app or a supplement, and the games run in an ordinary browser.
The games
- Does training on the games make me smarter?
- Practice makes you better at the task you practised. The evidence that improving on a browser task carries over to unrelated abilities or to everyday life is weak, and we do not claim that it does. What the games honestly give you is a repeatable way to see how you did today against how you did last week, on the same task, under conditions you can read.
- What do my game scores actually mean?
- They describe that run, on that game, on that device. They move with your sleep, your screen, your keyboard and how much you cared that day, so a single reading is a starting point rather than a measurement of you. Every reading carries how it was produced, and we never rank you against other people or show you a percentile, because doing that honestly would need a norming sample this product does not have.
Plans, payment and refunds
- How much does Brainmaxing cost?
- There is a free plan that does not expire, and two paid plans, Core and Premium. All fifteen training games are free to play on the bench without an account. The free plan includes the Snapshot, your Brain Profile, the seven-day protocol, every measurement instrument, and five of the training games saved to your account. The paid plans save every game to your account with its full history, add practice trends over time, and open more of the learning and community surfaces. The prices, the currencies and what each plan includes are on the plans page.
- Can I cancel a paid plan?
- Yes, at any time, from Your plan in your account. It is the same number of steps it took to subscribe, nobody will ask you to telephone or email anyone, and there is no retention offer in the way. Cancelling stops the renewal and your access runs to the end of the period you have already paid for. Your data stays where it is either way.
- What if I change my mind after paying?
- If you are a consumer in the UK or the EEA you have 14 days from starting your first subscription to withdraw from it, for any reason. Use the Withdraw from contract control on Your plan and it ends immediately and we refund what you paid in full, with nothing deducted for the days you used it. If you live somewhere else and the law there gives you a cooling-off right, you have exactly that right and never less. If it does not, and you have only just started your first subscription by mistake, tell us within two days and we will refund it. The full clause is in the Terms.
Your account and your data
- How old do I have to be?
- You must be 18 or over to create an account or to buy a plan, and we ask you to confirm it when you make one. Brainmaxing is written for adults and is not designed or intended for children.
- Is my data private?
- You can complete the Snapshot and read your full result without giving us an email address or sending your answers anywhere — the scoring runs in your browser. We only ask for an email if you create an account or want something sent to you, we never send your individual answers to analytics providers, and we never sell or share your personal information. Your account data is held in a database in London, in the United Kingdom.
- Can I delete my data?
- Yes, and it really is deleted. Settings has a control that downloads a complete copy of your data and a control that deletes the account, which removes your saved results, your history, your runs, your progress, your community posts and your sessions. It cannot be undone, and you do not have to write to anyone to do it.
Using it, and reaching us
- Can I use it without the 3D experience?
- Yes. The Snapshot, your result, the seven-day plan, the games and the plans page all work fully without WebGL, with animation disabled, and with a keyboard and screen reader.
- How do I get in touch?
- Use the contact form on the contact page, or write to support@brainmaxing.net. You will get a case reference, and we aim to reply within three working days. The contact page also carries our registered office, for legal notices.
